Akhmed Dudayev and Kadyrov's son received new powers

Ramzan Kadyrov appointed his eldest son, Akhmat Kadyrov, and the head of the Chechen Ministry of Nationalities and Information, Akhmed Dudayev, as acting deputy prime ministers of Chechnya. Both retained their current ministerial posts.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on January 2, Ramzan Kadyrov considered it necessary to comment on the latest publications about his health, dismissing reports of his hospitalization in Moscow as "gossip." A video of Kadyrov, who declares a "fighting spirit," was filmed and published by Chechen Minister of National Policy, External Relations, Press, and Information Akhmed Dudayev.

Chechnya's leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced today the promotions of his 20-year-old son, Akhmat Kadyrov, who serves as the republic's Minister of Sports, and Akhmed Dudayev, head of the regional Ministry of National Policy, External Relations, Press, and Information. The appointment of Akhmat Kadyrov as acting deputy head of the republic's government was proposed by Chechen Prime Minister Magomed Daudov, while Ramzan Kadyrov himself made the decision to promote Akhmed Dudayev, according to a post on his Telegram channel.

According to Kadyrov, both appointees boast "a number of exceptional professional qualities." "Akhmat Kadyrov and Akhmed Dudayev possess significant management experience, a deep understanding of the specifics of the areas they oversee, and have proven themselves to be responsible and effective leaders," the post stated.

Akhmed Dudayev, congratulating Akhmat Kadyrov on his appointment, thanked the elder Kadyrov "for the high level of trust he has placed in them." "Under your wise leadership, we will strive to justify the trust placed in us," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

It was announced on May 21, 2024, that Ramzan Kadyrov's eldest son, Akhmat Kadyrov, had been appointed Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of Chechnya.
