A Dagestani soldier was killed in Ukraine.

Adil Daudov from the Babayurt district was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have publicly named at least 1,765 Dagestani servicemen killed there.

According to the "Caucasian Knot," as of January 1, at least 1,764 Dagestani soldiers had been officially named as killed in the military operation. Among the latest to be killed was Adunapi Gazimagomedov from Khasavyurt.

The name of another Dagestani serviceman killed in Ukraine was released by the Babayurt district administration, which reported presenting a posthumous award to his relatives.

Adil Daudov was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. At the ceremony, district head Shakhmurat Istanbulov promised "comprehensive support" to the family of the slain soldier, according to the municipality's official Telegram channel. The official statement did not provide the soldier's age or biographical details.

Thus, at least 1,765 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled in accordance with current laws and based on data provided by officials—from the governor to the head of a village, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies.

According to the "Caucasian Knot," as of January 1, government and law enforcement officials had officially recognized at least 8,400 soldiers from southern Russia as killed in the military operation: 4,151 from the North Caucasus Federal District and 4,249 from the Southern Federal District. Dagestan has for several years held the highest number of those killed among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District whose names have been officially released by the authorities. Back in February 2022, Dagestan's head Sergey Melikov was the first government official to announce that a Russian soldier had been killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzimagomedov.
