Flight delays occurred due to the suspension of operations at airports in southern Russia.

A number of flights have been delayed at Makhachkala and Krasnodar airports following the imposition of flight restrictions. Residents of Grozny reported mobile internet outages amid reports of a drone attack.

Flight services were suspended at airports in Vladikavkaz, Magas, Makhachkala, and Krasnodar this night and morning.

For example, flights were suspended at Makhachkala airport this morning at 7:49 a.m. Moscow time. Rosaviatsiya spokesman Artem Korenyako, reporting on the resumption of flights at 10:15 a.m. Moscow time, said that two flights had diverted to alternate airfields. "During the period of restrictions, two aircraft diverted to alternate airfields." He did not specify which ones.

According to the airport's online flight board, four flights are delayed: one to Namangan and three to various Moscow airports. A flight from Krasnodar is delayed.

At Krasnodar Airport, where restrictions were also imposed today, flights from Tashkent, Makhachkala, and Samarkand, as well as departures to Makhachkala and Surgut, are delayed.

There are no flight delays at the airports in Grozny, Vladikavkaz, and Magas.

Commentators on the "Caucasian Knot" reported that mobile internet was shut down in the Chechen capital this morning. "Mobile internet in Chechnya, which was shut down after the drone alert was declared at 4:37 a.m., was restored after 11 a.m. Daily drone alert announcements, followed by mobile internet shutdowns, have been going on in the republic since November 27," wrote a "Caucasian Knot" reader.

Another reader reported that a powerful explosion in the "Grozny-City" airport occurred around 7 a.m. "It's possible no one was hurt, as the emergency occurred early in the morning, when the offices were empty. It's worth noting that the Grozny City complex is located directly across the street from the Chechen leader's residence," he added.

As reported by the Caucasian Knot, a fire broke out in one of the towers of the Grozny City complex, damaging the building's cladding. The video went viral during the closure of Grozny Airport due to the threat of a drone attack.
