A court in Novocherkassk sentenced contract soldier Alexander Belozerov to nine years in prison for breaking into two homes and robbing the owners.

The Novocherkassk Garrison Military Court convicted contract soldier Alexander Belozerov of robbery.

According to case materials, in April, Belozerov broke into a residential building in Shakhty by breaking a window. There, he threatened to kill the homeowner and snatched her cell phone. He then took money from the table and fled. The damage he caused amounted to over two thousand rubles. That same day, he broke into a private home in Novocherkassk, where, again threatening the owner with a knife, he stole two cell phones and a wallet containing change. The total damage amounted to more than six thousand rubles, Kommersant reported on November 28.

The defendant fully admitted his guilt, and the court sentenced him to nine years in a maximum-security penal colony, finding him guilty of illegally entering a home and using a weapon (Part 3 of Article 162 of the Russian Criminal Code).

Previously, "Caucasian Knot" reported that in 2019, a court sentenced two contract soldiers from a military unit in Novorossiysk and a resident of Karachay-Cherkessia to lengthy prison terms for kidnapping a man in Gelendzhik and extorting money from him.
