Construction work on the beach in Sukko has alarmed activists.

Construction work is underway on a section of the beach in the village of Sukko, an eyewitness reported. Activists from the "Anapa Civil" movement considered this grounds for filing a complaint with the prosecutor's office.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," in May 2023, Anapa residents held a protest against the installation of a fence topped with barbed wire on the beach in the village of Sukko. They suggested that the children's camp administration was unjustifiably seeking to fence off a section of the beach. The camp director explained the decision to close the beach out of concern for children's safety.

The Anapa Civil movement reported today on its Telegram channel about work underway near the beach in the village of Sukko.

"On the section of the beach used by the Sukko hotels "Democracy," "Moremi," and "Usadba Sukko," work has begun installing formwork, as for pouring concrete structures. We will verify the information and, if confirmed, file complaints with the prosecutor's office and other authorities," the post states.

The post is illustrated with two videos recorded by an eyewitness. Footage from one of them shows a worker dismantling steps leading to the shore. The passage along the steps is blocked by a wooden structure.

"Under the guise of landscaping, they're dismantling the steps and closing the entrance to the beach," says the man filming the video off-camera.

The second, five-second video shows wooden structures in close proximity to the shoreline. "Where is the environmental prosecutor's office looking?" – the same man says off-camera.

As a reminder, in June 2024, Sukko residents recorded a video message to Putin and Bastrykin, asking them to look into the situation regarding local residents' access to the beach. Investigators reported after an investigation that only a portion of the municipal beach fencing had been installed.

The problem of restricting free access to the embankment in Sukko arose in 2023, an activist from Anapa told the "Caucasian Knot" at the time. He explained that the bay has a limited beach area 600 meters long and 25 meters wide, and this beach is used by all residents of Sukko.
