Power and water outages on a weekend outraged residents of the Caspian Sea.

Kaspiysk authorities announced planned maintenance today on the power grid. Due to a power outage at pumping stations, water supply to many residential buildings has been interrupted. Commenters on Telegram were outraged that people were prevented from stocking up on water ahead of time, and their weekend plans were disrupted.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," in August, after a power outage, power was cut off at Kaspiysk's water treatment plants, which led to interruptions in the water supply. Authorities should have ensured backup power at the treatment facilities, Telegram users stated.

The Kaspiysk Department of Civil Defense and Emergencies issued a warning about today's power grid maintenance today at 7:14 AM Moscow time on its Telegram channel. According to the publication, the substation is scheduled to be powered down from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Moscow time to carry out the work.

"The following addresses will be affected by the power outage: the areas of Primorskaya, Kirov, Mayachnaya, and Kamennyy Quarry streets, the Abdulmanapova Street branch, the gardening non-profit partnership (SNT) and adjacent streets, and seven socially significant facilities (Kindergarten No. 30, Secondary Schools No. 4, 9, and 10, the Abdulmanapova Street pump station, the Primorskaya Street pump station, and the KOR water treatment plant," the publication states.

The city administration reposted this message at 8:13 a.m. Moscow time on its Telegram channel. As of 11:55 a.m. Moscow time, the posts had 16 and 158 comments, respectively.

Many of the comments expressed outrage at the sudden power and water outages on Sunday. "What's with these endless power outages? Can't they fix it once and for all? How can there be no water on the weekend?" wrote, in particular, user with a nickname consisting of a period.

For example, on August 12 and 13, intermittent outages and low water pressure were observed in parts of Makhachkala and Kaspiysk.
