Rostov Region Resident Fined for Discrediting Russian Army

A Donetsk resident published videos on social networks in which he insulted participants in a special operation in Ukraine, and was fined 30 thousand rubles. He was also arrested for 14 days for petty hooliganism.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, the administrative article on discrediting the Russian army (20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) provides for a fine of 30,000 to 100,000 rubles for citizens, but a repeated violation within a year threatens criminal prosecution under Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of Russia, which provides for up to three years of forced labor or up to five years of imprisonment (under aggravating circumstances - up to seven years).

Don security forces detained a 36-year-old unemployed resident of the village of Shchepkin, who posted videos on the Internet that were considered discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Rostov Region reported on September 6.

The court sentenced him to 14 days of arrest for petty hooliganism and a fine of 30 thousand rubles for discrediting the Russian army.
