Activist from Novorossiysk complains about law enforcers' pressure

Law enforcers have repeatedly visited the mother of Stepan Kosolapov, a resident of Novorossiysk, trying to get her son's phone number and address. After the court imposed a fine on him for discrediting the Russian Army, he filed an application for coercion to testify.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 14, 2023, a court fined Stepan Kosolapov, a single father, by 40,000 roubles for holding a pacifist picket. According to the activist, law enforcers had promised him a minimum fine if he signed an explanatory note with a confession of guilt.

The police are putting pressure on Kosolapov's family – the district policemen have repeatedly come to his mother's house trying to get Stepan's address and phone number from her, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has reported.

According to the "Sota" outlet, law enforcers' interest in Kosolapov is caused by the fact that a few months ago he wrote an application about coercion to testify within the army discrediting case. The defamation case against Kosolapov was based on some photo with a blurred face and the statements that Kosolapov gave under threat.
