Tbilisi: at protest, students demand to preserve remote learning

Several dozen students of the Tbilisi State University (TSU) have held a protest action, where they called on the university bosses to preserve the remote learning. They explained their demand by the high cost of renting housing in the capital of Georgia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that students in Georgia have repeatedly complained about their difficulties, including those caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

TSU students have held a protest action, at which they demanded from the university leadership to preserve the mixed education format – both the remote and in-person (classroom) learning. Several dozen people took part in the action, the "Rustavi-2" TV Channel has reported on its website today.

According to students, the housing rental rates are high in Tbilisi; and those who come to study from country regions should have a choice of the classroom or remote learning formats. The protesters demanded a meeting with university bosses, but it didn't take place. In its turn, the TSU administration promised holding a dialogue with students and trying to satisfy their demands, the post on the above website says.
