Kadyrov reports positive coronavirus test in one of ministers

An initial test for coronavirus of Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, proved to be positive, but it was decided to hide the fact, Ramzan Kadyrov said, adding that the repeated Daudov's test was negative.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 27, Kadyrov equated coronavirus carriers to terrorists, demanding to place violators of the quarantine regime into isolation facilities, deprive them of food and bury in pits. Moreover, earlier, Chechen authorities had organized a celebration in spite of their own calls to cancel all mass events.

As of April 24, coronavirus was confirmed in 347 patients in Chechnya; six persons died.

According to Kadyrov, it became known about Daudov's initial confirmed coronavirus infection shortly after he was appointed to head of the operative headquarters for countering coronavirus in Chechnya.

"I was afraid for the moral state of our Speaker, as he is very worried about his health," the "Chechnya Today" has quoted Kadyrov as saying.

After the repeated test proved to be negative, Kadyrov, as he said, informed Daudov about the first test. "Magomed thanked me for hiding that information because he could have not withstood it. True that after that incident he almost every day began visiting the clinic," the "Chechnya Today" quoted Kadyrov as saying.
