Relatives of militants killed in Grozny complain about mass dismissals

Relatives of the young people killed on December 17-18 in Grozny and involved in attacks on policemen are dismissed from their jobs, and some of them are not paid pension and benefits. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by the people themselves.

"Almost all the people who wear our surname are dismissed from jobs, including my husband, two brothers of my husband and even a sister of my husband, and other relatives. No explanations were voiced, and they were just informed that they had been fired. We do not know what to do now," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a female relative of one of the killed militants, who preferred to remain anonymous for security reasons.

This is not the only family whose members found themselves in such a situation.

"Our family members are almost completely left without sources of income. All our relatives who worked were fired. Moreover, my brother is no longer paid a disability pension. It is not clear where we can get money to live on. The only solution in the situation is to leave. But that requires money, and we are short of it," said a close relative of another militant killed in the special operation in Grozny who also preferred to remain anonymous.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a leader of one of the Chechen NGOs that "not only men, but women are also dismissed from jobs."

Sources of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent found it difficult to mention the exact number of dismissed family members. However, they noted that they talked of "about a dozen" people.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 17, attacks on policemen were committed in different districts of Grozny, and after that the CTO legal regime was introduced in the city. According to the law enforcement authorities, during the special operation, continued on December 18, seven suspected militants were killed and four others were detained. On December 19, the "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia by court and recognized as a terrorist organization, claimed responsibility for the attacks in Grozny.
