The court confirmed the seizure of assets from the former Vice Premier of Karachay-Cherkessia.

The Judicial Board of the Supreme Court of Karachay-Cherkessia upheld the decision to transfer assets worth 307 million rubles, belonging to former Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Bugayev and his relatives, to the state.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in early August, the city court of Cherkessk kept former Minister of Property and Land Relations of Karachay-Cherkessia Dmitry Bugayev, accused of exceeding official powers, in custody for two months.

The court established that during his time in the government of Karachay-Cherkessia from 2015 to 2025, Dmitry Bugayev acquired highly liquid real estate and vehicles worth over 307 million rubles. The cars and real estate were registered in the names of close relatives and other close persons, the regional prosecutor's office reported today on its Telegram channel.

"The legality of the origin of the income used for the transactions has not been confirmed," the supervisory agency's message states.

From 2022 to 2025, Dmitry Bugayev headed the Ministry of Property and Land Relations of Karachay-Cherkessia; prior to that, he worked as Vice Premier for Digitalization, Deputy Minister of Education, and advisor to the head of the republic, reported "Kommersant".

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that Rosimushchestvo put up for auction a mansion in Yessentuki, which was seized from former head of Karachay-Cherkessia Vladimir Kaichev, with a starting price of over 55 million rubles.
