Fighter from Kalmykia killed in Ukraine

Vitaly Bocharov from the Tselinny District was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, authorities and security forces have acknowledged at least 264 fighters from Kalmykia as killed.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by September 22, authorities and security forces had acknowledged at least 263 fighters as killed in the special military operation in Ukraine.

Vitaly Bocharov was born on September 5, 1981, in the village of Troitskoye in the Tselinny District. On December 11, 2023, he signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense to participate in the special military operation, reported the state news agency "Kalmykia".

He served in the assault company and was killed on March 10, 2025, in the area of the village of Shcherbinovka. He was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.

Thus, at least 264 combatants from Kalmykia have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District who have been killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report by "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: Losses in Southern Russia are Increasing".

It was previously reported that in the military operation killed were Sanal Lezhinov, Murad Gasanaliyev, and Danzan Nastaev from the Tselinny District.
