The name of the officer from Stavropol killed in the special military operation has been revealed.

Andrey Lefterov was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, at least 976 fighters from the Stavropol region have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by September 18, authorities and security forces recognized at least 975 fighters from the Stavropol region as killed. The last one officially reported was officer Ivan Kashirin, who was killed in the Kursk region.

Today, the governor of the Stavropol region, Vladimir Vladimirov, reported on the meeting with Lefterov's family and the presentation of the "Golden Star" medal in his Telegram channel.

Lefterov was a paratrooper officer, a company commander. He participated in the military operation from the very first days of its start. He died in August 2023 after receiving a serious injury.

Thus, at least 976 servicemen from the Stavropol region have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District who were killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, as stated in the report by "Caucasian Knot" "SVO Statistics: Losses are Growing for Southern Russia".

Earlier, the governor of the Stavropol region, Vladimir Vladimirov, reported that a career officer Ivan Kashirin was killed in the Kursk region.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, as stated in the material by "Caucasian Knot" "Three Comrades Served: How Authorities Deprive Families of Killed Volunteers of Benefits", which describes the stories of the killed fighters. For instance, the mother of the killed Dmitry Ukhanov said that she searched for her son's body for four months, while officials from the administration and military enlistment office inquired about the progress of the search without providing any help.
