Voters from Kabardino-Balkaria demanded solutions to pension and tariff issues on the second day of the elections.

State Duma deputies must cancel the pension reform, address the housing issues for orphans, and the rise in tariffs, prices for medicines and food, voters from Kabardino-Balkaria indicated on the second day of voting.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 18, on the first day of voting, surveyed residents of Nalchik talked about their attitude towards the elections. Some respondents considered participation in voting mandatory, one of them positively assessed the work of the State Duma, while others stated that they would not go to the polling stations, citing distrust of the deputies and the counting of votes. Among the complaints were also low pensions and rising prices and tariffs.

On September 19, the second day of voting, residents of Kabardino-Balkaria stated that they expect the State Duma deputies to solve a number of problems. It is not the laws that need to be changed, but the composition of the deputies, believes ecologist Alexander Golovko. "I would recommend changing not the laws, but the deputies themselves. There are none among them who will do anything for the people," he told a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

Participation in the elections is necessary, however, there are doubts about the honesty of the vote counting, believes Nalchik resident Yaroslav Migirov. "I will go to vote on the last day because [one of the parties] calls for voting on that day, and I support it," he told a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

According to Migirov, there are people in his circle who consider participation in the elections pointless, but he himself intends to fulfill his civic duty. He expects the new State Duma to cancel the pension reform and end the military operation in Ukraine.

The head of the public fund for supporting orphans "Heritage" Anna Kerefova expects a more active resolution of social problems from the future State Duma. She named the slow provision of housing for orphans as one of the main problems.

"There is a law on this matter, but it is implemented very sluggishly and slowly in the regions. The queue of a thousand people moves at a turtle's pace. Many orphans, who are already 40 years old, with families and children continue to live in rented apartments," she told a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

Kerefova is also concerned about the rising cost of utilities, medicines, and food, as well as the level of pensions. According to her estimates, the average pension in Kabardino-Balkaria is about 25,000 rubles. A deputy corps is necessary, but it is important for voters to know the plans of the deputies and see the results of their work, she indicated.

Resident of Neutrino Marina K. expects deputies to protect residents from losing long-privatized housing. According to her, the Federal Property Management Agency in Kabardino-Balkaria is filing lawsuits to recognize the privatization of apartments as illegal, and one such lawsuit has already been satisfied.

"We have contacted the State Duma deputy about this, but have not yet received a response. We would like our deputies from Kabardino-Balkaria to pay attention to our situation and initiate the adoption of a corresponding law so that a person who has lived in an apartment for 30 years or more cannot have it taken away under any pretext," she told a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

At the same time, Marina K. reported that she has not voted in elections for about 20 years.

Another resident of Nalchik is dissatisfied with the work of the deputies. Among the reasons, he mentioned the increase in the retirement age, regular increases in tariffs and taxes, as well as the introduction of fees for major repairs of houses. "I will not go to the elections, although I understand that my vote will not change anything," he told a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot" on the condition of anonymity.

In the opinion of the Nalchik resident, people who are satisfied with their lives and face less financial hardship and inability to meet their basic needs go to the elections more often. He suggested reducing the number of State Duma deputies to 50, creating a group of lawyers to prepare legislative proposals instead of the remaining seats.

"This would provide significant savings in budget funds, which are currently spent on their salaries, business trips, and payment for assistants. There is no benefit from a large number of deputies. No more than 30-40 deputies propose legislative initiatives, the rest either join them or their activities are limited to participating in voting," believes the Nalchik resident.

Let us remind you that on September 17, the day before the voting, residents of Kabardino-Balkaria surveyed by "Caucasian Knot" named among the main problems the rise in utility tariffs and prices for food and medicines, the state of medicine and roads, as well as resettlement from emergency housing. On September 15, voters in the republic pointed out the weak pre-election activity, lack of information about candidates, and disappointment in the ability to influence the voting results.
