The Chechen election commission reported thousands of observers

About 4 thousand observers have registered to work at polling stations in Chechnya, reported the republican election commission. The agency did not specify who appointed these observers.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 14, the authorities of Chechnya reported on the preparations for voting: 874 thousand voters are registered in the republic, 20 territorial and 541 precinct election commissions will be working.

During the three days of voting on September 18, 19, and 20, 3920 observers will be working at polling stations in Chechnya, reported the Republic's Election Commission on September 16.

Observers "will be able to monitor the voting process" and "be present during voting outside the premises, counting of votes, and the preparation of final documents by precinct commissions," the official Telegram channel of the commission stated.

The election commission noted that observers "are appointed by candidates, political parties, and public oversight entities in accordance with the law." The publication does not specify which candidates and organizations nominated the registered observers.

Ramzan Kadyrov has noticeably increased his public activity before the regional head elections. For instance, on September 6, he reported on the transfer of 430 school kits to children in the Gaza sector; analysts believe Kadyrov is trying to use the image of a defender of Muslims against the backdrop of the elections. On September 14, he "demanded to ensure open voting in the elections for the head of Chechnya," although analysts previously indicated that there would be no real political competition in these elections.

On September 15, Kadyrov, along with his daughter Khadizha, opened the first restaurant of the "Vkusno - i tochka" chain in Chechnya, announcing that the establishment is also the first halal restaurant of the chain in Russia.
