The sentence of the Kuban court in the case of treason was upheld.

The appellate court upheld the sentence of the detained citizen of Russia and Sweden, Maxim Artemov, who will spend 14 years in a strict regime colony.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the court sentenced Denis Popov to 25 years of imprisonment in a case of treason. According to the court, he transmitted information about military ships in Novorossiysk.

The sentence of the Krasnodar Regional Court against Maxim Artemov, found guilty of treason, has come into force, as the Third Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the decision unchanged. Artemov was sentenced to 14 years in a strict regime correctional colony. He was also sentenced to two years of restriction of freedom and a fine of 200,000 rubles.

Maxim Artemov, previously convicted under the article on robbery, immigrated to Sweden after his release in 2002 and obtained Swedish citizenship. Since 2021, he moved to Odessa. There, Artemov transferred money from his account in the Swedish bank Revolut to a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024, reported RIA "Novosti" citing the FSB Public Relations Center. As Artemov himself stated, he sent money to his acquaintance twice, who asked for help in purchasing new military uniforms, according to a video posted on the Telegram channel of Vladimir Solovyov.

Artemov was detained by FSB officers in Sochi airport for disobeying law enforcement, according to "Mediazona". The police report indicated that he refused to show documents and go to the station, waving his arms. Artemov was arrested for 10 days, this happened eight more times, and then a criminal case was initiated under the article on treason 1 .

It should be noted that the Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Evgeny Chernyshov, a resident of Novorossiysk, to 22 years in a strict regime for treason and participation in a terrorist organization.
