The court in Astrakhan refused to satisfy the claim of the city administration against the former owner of the "Planet" park, Oleg Sarychev, for reimbursement of expenses for dismantling the equipment.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on December 30, 2023, it became known that a case against the owner of the "Planet" park in Astrakhan, Oleg Sarychev, accused in the case of a child's death in the water park, was sent to court. Sarychev was charged with providing services that do not meet safety requirements. On April 27, 2024, Sarychev was sentenced to one and a half years in prison. In June of the same year, the appellate court upheld the sentence.

The Soviet District Court of Astrakhan dismissed the claim of the city administration against the former owner of the "Planet" park, Oleg Sarychev, for reimbursement of expenses for dismantling the equipment, including the Ferris wheel and the pond, reports "Kommersant" on August 22.

The court concluded that the legislation does not allow transferring these financial obligations to a citizen. The demands to pay for the dismantling work were initially directed at LLC "Park Planet", but it was liquidated in March, making it impossible to recover funds from the organization. The municipality then filed a claim against the former owner of the park, but the court deemed the demands unfounded.

Astrakhan authorities have been seeking the demolition of the park since 2021, claiming that its construction was illegal. In 2022, the court ordered Sarychev to dismantle the equipment, but he managed to obtain a suspension by appealing to the president.

After Sarychev was released from prison, the city authorities gave him until December 2024 to completely dismantle the facilities; in two months, 16 attractions were removed, and dismantling the larger structures would require another two and a half months, but the court refused to extend the deadlines. After that, Sarychev again appealed to the president with a proposal for a settlement: he offered to transfer the park to another management company for modernization. In early 2025, the city administration presented a project for a regular walking park on the site of "Planet", but the Union of Associations of Parks and the Entertainment Industry insists on creating a new amusement park and has already developed a plan with 15 attractions, a mini-water park, and a café. The organization stated that it is ready to find an investor who will invest at least 300 million rubles in the renovation, and they want to launch the facility in 2027.
