The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia refused to reopen the investigation into the death of Tamar Bachaliashvili.

There are no legal grounds for reopening the investigation into the death of programmer Tamar Bachaliashvili, and the version of suicide is supported by evidence, the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia responded to her parents' request to resume the investigation.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in July 2020, the body of 23-year-old Tamar Bachaliashvili was found in the back seat of her own car. The investigation into Bachaliashvili's case was initiated under the article "Illegal deprivation of liberty", and later under the article "Driving to suicide". Investigators found no signs of violence on the body. In December of the same year, the Prosecutor's Office announced that the investigation into the girl's death was completed, and the cause of death was suicide. However, in February, after a network of fraudulent call centers was uncovered in Georgia, among the patrons of which was named former head of the State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili, Bachaliashvili's parents demanded to reopen the investigation into her death.

The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia refused to reopen the investigation into the death of Tamar Bachaliashvili, stating that there are no legal grounds for a new investigation, and the version of suicide is confirmed by the analysis of evidence, informs "News-Georgia" on August 21.

The agency published a statement reiterating the conclusions made six years ago. According to the investigation, Bachaliashvili had been in a severe psycho-emotional state for a long time, and DNA tests and video from surveillance cameras confirmed that there were no outsiders in her car.
