Mamedli has been unable to obtain the examination results for 10 days.

The founder of Toplum TV, Alesker Mamedli, who is being held in Baku's SIZO-1, is being denied the results of a medical examination. Mamedli's condition is worsening, his brother reported.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the founder of Toplum TV, Alesker Mamedli, suffered a heart attack in SIZO-1, and his overall condition has significantly deteriorated. On August 11, blood samples were taken from Alesker Mamedli for analysis, and an echocardiogram was performed. His defense and relatives insist on his urgent hospitalization in a specialized clinic.

On June 8, the prosecutor requested long prison terms for the accused – from 13 to 16 years. The defense asked for the acquittal of the accused. On July 27, a verdict was announced in the Baku Serious Crimes Court regarding this case.

"Today (August 21), Alesker called from the SIZO. Despite the fact that blood samples were taken from Alesker 10 days ago and an echocardiogram was performed, he is not being given the results of these examinations. His requests for the results are also being ignored," said the brother of Toplum TV founder Nasimi Mamedli to a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

According to him, the refusal to provide the examination results is a direct violation of Article 22.5 of the law "On Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Persons Held in Places of Deprivation of Liberty".

" In fact, the main medical department of the Ministry of Justice does not comply with the direct requirement of the law. If Alesker, being a professional lawyer who has dedicated 30 years of his life to law, cannot ensure the observance of his rights in prison, it is frightening to even imagine the situation of thousands of prisoners who do not even know their rights and are deprived of the opportunity to defend themselves," continued Nasimi Mamedli.

Mamedli's health condition is deteriorating.

"My brother is getting worse and worse from shortness of breath, he has a consistently rapid heartbeat, and he is troubled by increasingly severe headaches. He is exhausted from insomnia and lack of appetite. He also suffers from diabetes and hypertension – illnesses that he 'earned' after his arrest," noted Nasimi Mamedli.

The Mamedli family demands that a medical examination, including angiography, be urgently organized with a doctor whom he trusts.

It was not possible to obtain comments from the Penitentiary Service and the main medical department of the Ministry of Justice.
