Russian wheat has been sent to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan.

A freight train with Russian wheat has been sent to Armenia via Azerbaijan. 560 tons of wheat will arrive in Armenia.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 8, 15 wagons of wheat and 10 wagons of coal passed from Russia through the territory of Azerbaijan to Armenia.

Today, a freight train with Russian wheat has been sent from the Bilyadzheri station of the Azerbaijan Railways through Azerbaijan to Armenia.

Eight wagons of the train are loaded with 560 tons of wheat, and the train is heading towards the Bёyuk-Kyasik station.

Earlier, more than 42 thousand tons of wheat, about 9 thousand tons of fertilizers, 1,136 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminum, 1,114 tons of coal, and 67 tons of wood were sent from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the suspension of operations at two grain terminals in Novorossiysk after drone attacks will lead to a significant reduction in grain exports and increase the risk of bankruptcy for agricultural producers amid constantly falling grain prices, analysts noted. Wheat prices are steadily declining, agricultural producers emphasized. The group of companies "Delo", which owns the third grain terminal of the KSK in the port of Novorossiysk, announced on August 13 the suspension of its operational activities for security reasons.

Oil products were exported from Azerbaijan to Armenia: about 15 thousand tons of diesel fuel and about 5 thousand tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline.

It should be noted that in October 2025, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced the lifting of all restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia. In early November 2025, a shipment of Russian grain arrived in Armenia via Azerbaijan for the first time since the 1990s. The Armenian authorities stated that this fulfilled one of the agreements reached in the USA, contributing to strengthening peace between Yerevan and Baku.

On February 4, Aliyev and Pashinyan discussed the initiated economic cooperation at a meeting in the UAE and agreed to seek opportunities to expand trade. Although trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia is mutually beneficial, it is expected to be limited in the near future, Baku analysts believe.
