The investigative department for the Soviet district of Makhachkala of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan has initiated a criminal case regarding the murder of a 44-year-old local resident (part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the Investigative Committee of Russia for Dagestan reported today.

According to the investigation, on August 14, 2026, at approximately 3:15 PM, in the city garden located at: Makhachkala, Maxim Gorky Street, a local resident, motivated by blood revenge, inflicted about 20 stab wounds on a man born in 1982. The man died from the injuries sustained.

Currently, investigative actions are being conducted to establish all the circumstances of the incident, the identity of the suspect, and the motive for the crime, as well as to secure the evidence base, as stated in the report.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the convicted person and his lawyer Sergey Osipov were killed by the victim near the building of the Nogai District Court on March 15, 2024. The motive for the murder was blood revenge: the victim was dissatisfied with the court's verdict in a traffic accident case in which his son died. Subsequently, the Supreme Court of Dagestan overturned the verdict of the Nogai District Court, which provoked the murder of the accused and his lawyer by the father of the teenager who died in the traffic accident.
