Protesters in Tbilisi remembered the fallen fighters in the village of Shindisi.

On the 622nd day of continuous protests, participants of the pro-European demonstration gathered at the Parliament of Georgia and the Tbilisi City Council with posters about the Georgian soldiers killed in August 2008 in the village of Shindisi.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 10, the 621st day of daily protests, participants at the Parliament and the Tbilisi City Hall protested against the pro-Russian political course.

Participants of the pro-European protests with national flags and EU flags gathered this evening at the building of the Parliament of Georgia and near the Tbilisi City Council. The action, which is taking place in two locations due to the renovation of Rustaveli Avenue, was held for the 622nd consecutive day, reports Publika.

The demonstrators voiced their unchanged demands: to free political prisoners and repeal repressive laws, as well as to return the country to a Euro-Atlantic course and hold free elections.

The activists' posters, as in previous days, were dedicated to the August war of 2008 and, in particular, the events in the village of Shindisi, where 17 Georgian fighters were killed: “We remember the heroes of Shindisi,” “Russia is the enemy,” “We remember 07.08.08,” “Russia is the occupier,” “Russia is a terrorist state and aggressor,” according to a publication by photographer Georgy Mosiashvili (Mo Se) on Facebook*.

Protesters also held posters saying “Do not interrupt the struggle,” “Down with Russian Bidzina,” and “Bidzina, Shindisi is not in Russia.”

The Prime Minister of Georgia from “Georgian Dream,” Irakli Kobakhidze, commented today on the possibility of restoring full diplomatic relations with Russia. “This will not happen until the Russian Federation recognizes the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia,” he stated.
