The condition of the Water Station in Vladikavkaz has given rise to criticism of officials.

One of the residents of Vladikavkaz photographed garbage and a damaged pier in the recreation area of the Water Station and published the photos on social media. Commenting on his post, other citizens criticized officials for inadequate oversight and placed the blame for the garbage and the state of the infrastructure on vandals.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in mid-July 2024, residents of Vladikavkaz opposed the improvement of the Water Station area. The work involved cutting down trees, and residents stated that this would harm the ecology. The Union of Architects of North Ossetia sided with the residents, pointing out that Vladikavkaz lacks park areas, and the prosecutor's office demanded the cancellation of the results of the public hearings.

One resident of Vladikavkaz complained on social media about the deplorable condition of the Water Station. "A favorite place to relax in our city, yet it is in terrible condition. The boards on the pier are in an emergency state, and there is grass and garbage everywhere," he noted.

The complaint of the Vladikavkaz resident was posted on August 9 by the Instagram*-public chp_vladikavkaz, which has about 555 thousand followers. As of 08:55 MSK on August 10, this post had received 242 likes and 53 comments. Some users criticized the officials.

"Where is the director of the Water Station, doesn't he see this?" asked user ars___61.

"What about the head of the administration?" asked user bo_bo9013.

"They have abandoned it. Apparently, they want to let it slide. Maintenance... Then bankrupt it and buy it for a pittance," believes digor_gorec.

"At least one hundred million needs to be allocated for reconstruction," wrote user a__v__t.

"How? Already? Is it time to allocate money for reconstruction?" sarcastically remarked user sem.6878.

"What isn't in terrible condition? There is devastation everywhere," stated user maru__jjk.

Users identifying themselves as locals complained about unsanitary conditions and dirty water. "It seems like they decided to mock the Water Station. It looks like everything has been arranged, but the water (poor thing) in the reservoir is dirty – initially since spring. How could it be cleaned like this?" asked td__oksana.

"The water is dirty, full of garbage, how can you even swim there?" wrote elenaevrikovna.

"In addition, there is a smell of swamp coming from the water," noted berta0428.

Commentators placed the responsibility for the broken infrastructure on vandals.

"Made from very expensive and high-quality materials with care," wrote user epil.lopo_.

"The materials may be expensive, but the vandals are the same," replied djlumen15.

"It was done well, but for vandals, it doesn't matter what work to ruin," noted zelka_bratan.

"These boards didn't just fall out. The visitors of the Water Station are such that in two seasons they have already broken everything. Why don't the people of Ossetia love to take care of what is created for them?" asked user ildd16.

As of 08:50 MSK on August 10, there are no comments on the Vladikavkaz administration's website regarding the complaints of local residents about the condition of the Water Station.

Recall that a number of violations were identified in the project for the construction of a recreation area near the Water Station, and a lawsuit was filed demanding the cancellation of the construction. The arbitration court declared the investment agreements and land lease contracts around the Water Station in Vladikavkaz invalid, where an aquacomplex and an apartment hotel were planned to be built. The mayor of Vladikavkaz lamented that due to the departure of the investor, the city lost the opportunity to improve the area.
