A Dagestani resident was arrested for recruiting for a terrorist organization.

The Investigative Committee of Dagestan has opened a criminal case against a local resident suspected of recruiting a minor into a terrorist organization and attempting to manufacture an improvised explosive device.

According to investigators, the suspect recruited local residents, including a minor, into the activities of an international terrorist organization, which is banned in the Russian Federation, in Makhachkala starting in December 2025.

Furthermore, the man researched methods for making improvised explosive devices online and subsequently purchased the necessary chemical components and parts for making explosives at home, the press service of the regional Investigative Committee reported today on its Telegram channel.

"During a search of the suspect's home, law enforcement officers discovered and seized chemicals, metal elements, electrical equipment, and other items used in the manufacture of an improvised explosive device," the statement read. Press service.

The case is being investigated on the grounds of incitement or recruitment to commit terrorist crimes ( 1 ), incitement or recruitment of a minor to commit terrorist crimes ( 2 ), and preparation for the illegal manufacture of explosives.

At the request of the investigator, the court arrested the suspect. Investigative actions are being conducted in the criminal case to establish the circumstances of the crimes committed, the department noted.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that a court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Dagestani resident Ramazan Musaev to four years in prison, finding him guilty of calls for terrorism.
