The Armenia bloc called the detention of an office employee in Spitak an act of pressure.

The Anti-Corruption Committee detained an employee of the Armenia bloc in Spitak. The party called the detention an attempt to interfere with its activities amid the parliamentary election campaign.

As reported by the Caucasian Knot, the Armenian parliamentary elections are scheduled for June 7. Seventeen parties and two blocs have been admitted. Samvel Karapetyan's Strong Armenia, along with Robert Kocharyan's Armenia bloc and Gagik Tsarukyan's Prosperous Armenia Party, is one of the most pro-Russian parties in the Armenian parliamentary elections. The Kremlin is banking on Karapetyan, but he is legally ineligible to participate in the elections, Armenian political scientists previously noted.

On May 14, the Anti-Corruption Committee conducted searches at the office of the Armenia bloc in Spitak, detaining one person.

The press service of the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia stated that the investigative actions are being carried out as part of a criminal case initiated by the committee, News.Am reported.

The Armenia bloc's statement noted that it views the events within the bloc not as a legal process, but as an attempt to hinder their activities. "What is happening is not a legal process, but another attempt to hinder the normal functioning of our structures," Armenia Today quotes the party's statement.

The bloc also stated that such actions are not capable of changing their political agenda. "No searches or detentions can change our political agenda. Our team knows what it's fighting for," the publication states.
