Protesters in Tbilisi demanded the release of political prisoners.

On the 524th day of protests, participants in the rally near the Georgian Parliament continued to demand the release of political prisoners and supported the demand of parents to purchase medicine for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, on May 4, the 523rd day of continuous protests, activists on Rustaveli Avenue also came out with a demand to release political prisoners and purchase medicine for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.  Participants in the daily meetings near the Parliament support the demands of parents who have been spending the night near the government chancery since April 20.

Activists carrying national and EU flags gathered outside the Georgian Parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue today for the 524th consecutive evening.

Protesters held posters reading "Medicine for Children" and "Freedom for Prisoners of the Regime." At least 50 people participated in the protest, according to posts by photographer Mo Se and Georgian media outlets on Facebook*.

A Tbilisi court today sentenced several more active participants in pro-European protests to jail, after police accused them of "blocking the sidewalk." Activist Data Kashiashvili received four days of administrative detention, and Nino Petriashvili, the mother of a 13-year-old child, received two days, Pirveli TV reports.

Protesters in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Security forces violently dispersed the protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detained protesters. Thousands of people were subjected to administrative prosecution during the protests.
