Graves of participants in the fighting in Ukraine were damaged near Krasnodar.

Investigators in Krasnodar reported searching for suspects in the desecration of military graves at a cemetery in the village of Kopansky. The damaged photographs on the graves belonged to participants in the fighting in Ukraine.

At least 14 graves of participants in the fighting against Ukraine were damaged in the Prikubansky District of Krasnodar.

According to investigators, the graves were damaged on the night of May 1 by "unidentified individuals"; they are being sought.

"The defendants broke 13 glass photo frames on tombstones, removed a photograph from one of the tombstones, and damaged a wooden cross," the regional Investigative Committee reported.

Investigators opened a case under the article on desecration of military graves by "a group of persons" (clause "a" of Part 2 of Article 243.4 of the Russian Criminal Code). This article carries a sentence of up to five years in prison or forced labor.

The Telegram channel "Fighters of the Invisible Front named after Oleg Kharchenko" showed damaged graves in the 17th row of the Kopanskoye Cemetery in a video. According to the recordings, the stone tombstone of Mirzovali Sultonov, killed in December 2024, contains no photograph, and several other graves have damaged photo frames, although the images themselves are intact. The video's authors claim that all the portraits will be restored by May 9.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that Ekaterina Zhulenko, a resident of the village of Rostovanovskoye, was sentenced in March to two years in prison for desecrating the graves of participants in the military operation in Ukraine, committed for reasons of hatred or enmity.

In May 2024, a court in Volgograd arrested a local resident, Antonov, for desecrating the graves of participants in the military operation. It was reported at the time that three residents of the Traktorozavodsky district, including a girl, "trampled wreaths and broke crosses" on the graves of participants in the military operations killed in Ukraine. The sentence for the accused was not subsequently announced.
