A state of emergency has been declared in the Belorechensky District of Kuban due to flooding.

A local emergency situation has been declared in the Yuzhnenskoye rural settlement of the Belorechensky district of the Krasnodar Territory due to heavy rains and rising water levels. At least 40 residential areas were flooded.

As reported by Kavkazsky Uzel, the Urozhai and Kommunproekt gardening associations were flooded in the Bonchkovsky village due to the flooding of the Ubin River. water levels rose by at least five centimeters in 40 residential areas and in two houses.

Due to rising water levels and flooding, a local emergency was declared in the Yuzhnenskoye rural settlement on April 24, Sergei Sidorenko, head of the Belorechensky District, announced today on his Telegram channel.

Furthermore, according to him, a temporary accommodation center has been set up at 28 Tsentralnaya Street in the village for people whose homes were in the flood zone. A patrol of the area revealed that water had reached a large number of homes, and the Chibrik River had overflowed its banks.

The district head asked residents of the village of Yuzhny to remain in their homes while a door-to-door patrol was carried out. "Monitoring groups have been formed. Six additional police units have been deployed to protect public order and property," Sidorenko added.

Earlier, the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters reported that 40 residential areas in the Belorechensky District had been flooded due to heavy rains. Also in Goryachy Klyuch, warning sirens were activated along the banks of the Psekups River due to water levels rising to dangerous levels. Rising river levels were also recorded in Gelendzhik, Goryachiy Klyuch, Sochi, and the Apsheronsky and Seversky districts.
