Residents of three villages in Stavropol complained about poor roads.

Residents of the Ipatovsky District recorded a video message in which they reported that the roads between the villages of Maly, Verkhny, and Nizhny Barkhanchak have fallen into disastrous condition. The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, drew attention to the situation.

According to local residents, the road surface is in disrepair: deep potholes every few meters force cars into oncoming traffic. This creates a risk of accidents, and cars are seriously damaged.

The video message was published by the Telegram channel "Ipatovo," which has over three thousand subscribers. By 6:30 a.m. Moscow time, the post had garnered more than 600 views.

Pothole repairs, according to residents, are only carried out up to the central bus stop, while other sections have not been repaired for years. Lenin Street and other roads are also in poor condition.

"The entire road is littered with potholes over 20 centimeters long, over 60 centimeters wide, and 5 centimeters deep. It's impossible to drive on these roads," local residents complain in the video.

The regular bus regularly breaks down, leaving people at risk of being cut off from the district center and hospital. Moreover, there are no sidewalks in the problem areas, forcing children to walk directly on the roadway.

"Children and schoolchildren are forced to walk on the roadway because there are no sidewalks or pedestrian areas. This could lead to accidents," the residents stated in a video message.

Residents sent a collective appeal to the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin. The agency has already launched a procedural investigation. Bastrykin ordered a criminal case to be opened and a report on the preliminary and final findings of the investigation to be submitted. The central office is monitoring the execution of the order, reports Bloknot-Stavropol.

Following a complaint from residents, the Ipatovsky District Prosecutor's Office of the Stavropol Territory conducted an inspection and demanded road repairs in the district.

"It has been established that roads in the villages of Maly Barkhanchak, Verkhniy Barkhanchak, and Nizhniy Barkhanchak do not meet state standards. These violations pose a safety risk to road users and increase the risk of accidents," the Stavropol Territory Prosecutor's Office said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
