A university in Armenia has reversed its decision to switch to distance learning.

The American University of Armenia, which announced it would switch to online learning due to the Iranian threat, has reversed its decision after receiving assurances from authorities that there is no cause for concern.

As reported by the Caucasian Knot, the American University of Armenia announced on March 30th that it would switch to online learning due to "Iran's threat to universities in Western Asia and the Middle East." However, the university has not received any direct threats.

The American University of Armenia has decided to resume its regular academic activities, News.am reported on March 30.

The university's statement stated that the decision to switch to distance learning was made "for security reasons." However, the university's leadership received assurances from the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports that "there is no significant or substantial threat to the university and that it can resume normal academic activities."

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," a collection of humanitarian aid for arriving Iranians has begun in Yerevan, and an ambassador for one of the foundations stated that up to a million people could arrive in Armenia. The influx of refugees from Iran into Armenia will negatively impact the country's economy and social sphere, social media commentators believe. Other users stated the need to help those in distress. Some also believe the refugees will seriously impact relations between regional countries.

As a reminder, on February 28, Israel and the United States began striking Iran. Donald Trump announced the start of a large-scale military operation.
