Authorities in Dagestanskie Ogni have announced a forced evacuation due to flooding.

In the city of Dagestanskiye Ogni, due to flooding, a forced evacuation has been announced for citizens who are unable to do so on their own due to age or health conditions. A temporary accommodation center has been set up for evacuees at the local agricultural college.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," 221 people have been evacuated from flooded areas in Dagestan, specifically in Makhachkala, Buynaksk, and the Khasavyurt District, and 468 houses in the village of Adilyotar were flooded. Forty-three patients have been evacuated from a hospital in the village of Babayurt. In Makhachkala, 103 people were evacuated from flooded areas the day before.

On March 29, authorities in the city of Dagestanskiye Ogni announced a forced evacuation of residents "due to a critical rise in water levels and widespread flooding of residential buildings and adjacent areas." A message published on the Telegram channel "DagOgni - News" stated that all citizens who are unable to leave the flooded area on their own due to age, health, lack of watercraft, or high water levels are subject to evacuation.

All evacuees will be housed at a temporary accommodation center on Levanevsky Street in the dormitory of the agricultural college. They will be provided with hot meals and basic necessities.

Houses in the capital of Dagestan were flooded, and equipment, furniture, and cars were damaged. Residents complained about problems with electricity and water supplies, as well as transportation accessibility. They lamented the difficulty of calling emergency services. As a result of rain and strong winds, power outages occurred in Dagestan, leaving more than 327,000 residents in 283 communities without power. A state of high alert has been declared in the republic, and a state of emergency has been declared in Makhachkala.
