The father of a conscript from Dagestan asked lawmakers to help investigate the beating of his son.

The father of Magomedbek Khizbulaev, a conscript from Dagestan who is being treated in Moscow with serious injuries, appealed to Dagestan's deputies to look into the incident and not allow the matter to be hushed up. Telegram users doubted that the deputies would be able to provide real help.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", a 19-year-old conscript soldier from Dagestan with a severe head injury is being treated at the N.N. Burdenko National Medical Research Center of Neurosurgery in Moscow. The Dagestan Ministry of Nationalities is investigating the circumstances of his injury and is in contact with the serviceman's parents, the department stated. Injured Magomedbek Khizbulaev himself stated in the hospital that he was beaten, and his commanders' version of a fall from a tower does not match the nature of his injuries. The soldier's family received information about the incident from a fellow soldier; the military unit did not notify the family, his father said.

The appeal to the deputies by the father of the injured conscript was published by Shamil Khadulaev, head of the Public Monitoring Commission of Dagestan.

The man appealed to Dagestani deputies asking them to punish those responsible for what happened to his son. "I want to ask our deputies not to let this matter slide, to help in this case, to sort this out," he said in a video published on Khadulaev's Telegram channel.

"Half of his skull is missing. One side of his head is paralyzed," the man said of his son's condition. According to him, he was in a coma after being hospitalized, but later regained consciousness. "Thank God, he can feel, but he's still bedridden," the man said.

According to him, no one from the unit or the military registration and enlistment office has contacted the family yet, and the family has had to independently find out where their son is being treated.
