Aligadzhi Rabadanov from Kaspiysk was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, at least 1,788 soldiers from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by January 30, at least 1,787 soldiers from Dagestan had been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

The city administration reported on January 29 on its Telegram channel about the presentation of a posthumous award to the soldier's relatives at the Aliyeva Central Library in Kaspiysk.

The Suvorov Medal was presented to the relatives of Corporal Aligadzhi Rabadanov. The announcement did not provide biographical details or the circumstances of the soldier's death.

Thus, at least 1,788 fighters from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

Northern Military District statistics: losses are mounting in southern Russia

Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of those killed, whose names have been officially released by the authorities. The head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, was the first government official to announce back in February 2022 that a Russian serviceman had been killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzimagomedov.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that servicemen from Dagestan periodically record video messages to the republic's authorities asking them to resolve various social and domestic issues. Specifically, at the end of September 2025, members of the SVO complained to Melikov about the lack of sewage in Khasavyurt, and in December, about the lack of gas in a house in Izberbash. In January, former SVO participants stated in an appeal to the head of Dagestan that residents of the village of Ashaga-Yarak in the Khivsky District had nowhere to graze their livestock as a result of the sale of land for transhumance. Also in January, SVO participants complained to Melikov about the freezing of construction on their homes. Such appeals are caused by numerous problems in the republic and remain one of the ways to get the attention of officials. Despite Melikov's statement that combatants are recording appeals as a result of "manipulation," he will have to respond to them, analysts previously interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" indicated.
