A soldier from the Volgograd region was killed in Ukraine.

Igor Blinov from Kamyshin was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have acknowledged at least 1,612 servicemen from the Volgograd region killed there.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by January 6, authorities and security forces had named at least 1,611 soldiers from the Volgograd region killed in the military operation. The Kamyshin administration reported two fellow countrymen killed in Ukraine on December 25.

Igor Blinov from Kamyshin was killed in the combat zone in Ukraine, the city administration announced today on its official Telegram channel. Officials expressed condolences to Blinov's relatives, without disclosing his age or biography.

Thus, at least 1,612 soldiers from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

Authorities have recognized at least 8,400 soldiers from southern Russia as killed in the Northeast Military District zone.

The Kamyshin administration regularly names the soldiers killed in Ukraine – for example, in December they released the names of at least 14 killed. For several years now, the Volgograd Region has ranked first among Southern Federal District regions in the number of military personnel killed, whose names have been officially announced by government officials.
