The Investigative Committee of Karachay-Cherkessia announced the name of the latest serviceman killed in Ukraine on its Telegram channel, reporting on the unveiling of a memorial plaque for a department veteran.

Sergey Shuvayev served in the prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Karachay-Cherkessia. In 2023, he volunteered for service in the Russian Armed Forces. He was killed during a combat mission, the agency clarified.

Thus, at least 177 servicemen from Karachay-Cherkessia have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front.
