Authorities have acknowledged that at least 7,700 fighters from southern Russia were killed in the SVO zone.

At least 7,700 soldiers from southern Russia have been officially recognized as killed during the special military operation, including 3,823 from the North Caucasus Federal District and 3,877 from the Southern Federal District.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," as of October 13, at least 3,863 servicemen from the Southern Federal District and 3,795 from the North Caucasus Federal District have been officially recognized as killed during the special military operation.

North Caucasus Military District Statistics: Casualties Are Growing in Southern Russia

"Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list is compiled in accordance with current laws and based on data provided by officials—from governors to village heads, as well as representatives of security agencies. It should be noted that actual losses among North Caucasus security forces may be significantly higher than officially acknowledged. This situation is typical for all regions of the district, but is particularly acute in Chechnya. In February 2023, Kadyrov publicly called on regional leaders not to disclose the number of those killed.

According to the "Caucasian Knot" count, as of October 17, at least 7,700 soldiers from southern Russia had been officially recognized as killed in the North Caucasus Military District.

Among those killed were 3,823 soldiers from the North Caucasus Federal District and 3,877 soldiers from the Southern Federal District.

As before, the largest number of servicemen killed was in Dagestan, with 1,597 names publicly named by authorities and military officials. In the Stavropol Territory, information was released about 828 killed soldiers, in North Ossetia - about 497. In Kabardino-Balkaria there are 306 killed 1 , in Chechnya - 249 2 , in Karachay-Cherkessia - 174, - in Ingushetia - 173.

The largest number of killed in the Southern Federal District is in the Volgograd region - 1,425. In the Krasnodar region, 783 fighters were officially declared killed in Ukraine, and in the Rostov region - 739. The Astrakhan region accounts for 626 killed, and Kalmykia - 180. In Adygea, 132 fighters were officially declared killed.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the Caucasian Knot article "Three Comrades Served: How the Authorities Are Depriving the Families of Killed Volunteers of Benefits," which describes the stories of slain soldiers, including those from the Krasnodar Territory.
