Two of attackers on policemen in Makhachkala shot dead

After attacking the policemen, criminals fled in the Volkswagen car belonging to the road-and-patrol (DPS) service. The local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported that two of the attackers were killed, without specifying how many of them took part in the attack.

Today, an armed attack on policemen was committed in central Makhachkala. According to preliminary data, two unidentified persons opened fire on a DPS team, as a result of which three policemen perished and a 12-year-old girl was wounded.

Gayana Garieva, the head of the press service of the Dagestani MIA, has posted in her Telegram channel entitled “Criminal Chronicle” a photo of a man’s body lying next to a white car. “One of the attackers has been liquidated,” she reported at 3:17 p.m. Moscow time.

In another message, posted at 3:23 p.m., she reported that according to the Dagestani MIA, two attackers were killed; she has posted a video of the shootout. However, she failed to specify how many people took part in the attack.

Ms Garieva has also reported that the attackers fled in a Volkswagen DPS car, posting a photo in which two men can be seen in the front seats of the car.

The armed incident in Makhachkala was at least the third one in two months in Dagestan.
