Forensic expert from Buynaksk claims being subjected to pressure by law enforcers

The security forces began to put pressure on forensic expert Gadji Magomedov, who did not agree to turn a blind eye to the signs of beatings on a body of a detainee and included them in his report. After that, the security forces began to visit Gadji Magomedov at home with checks and stop his car.

On July 28, Gadji Magomedov, a forensic medical expert from Buynaksk, arrived at a department of a law enforcement body to examine detained Timur Arslanbekov. The detainee said that he was beaten by law enforcers, the weekly newspaper “Chernovik” (Rough Draft) reported.

“In the presence of the investigator, I recorded signs of beatings, multiple bruises, and abrasions,” Gadji Magomedov said.

According to him, the head of the law enforcement body expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that the expert documented the injuries of the detainee. “I was asked not to record the facts of the beatings, but I did not go along with them and did everything as prescribed by law,” the forensic expert says.

After that, according to Gadji Magomedov, the law enforcers began to persecute him.

An employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan said that he considered Gadji Magomedov an honest employee of the forensic medical examination, who was not afraid to record signs of beatings.

The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that Shamil Bekbolatov, a father of many children from the Kayakent District, complained that he was beaten by law enforcers during his detention.
