In Quarter 2 of 2019, 10 people fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

Within the second quarter of 2019, at least 10 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus; in particular, 8 persons were killed, and at least two more were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

According to the law enforcement bodies, all the killed suspects were involved in the activities of illegal armed formations (IAFs). Two wounded are law enforcers.

In Quarter 2 of 2019, in Dagestan, five persons were killed. All the dead were alleged members of the armed underground

In Chechnya, in April-June, three people perished in the armed conflict: one militant was killed and two law enforcers were wounded. 

In Kabardino-Balkaria, two persons fell victim to the armed conflict – all of the were alleged members of the armed underground.

In Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the Stavropol Territory, no victims to the armed conflict were recorded in Quarter 2 of 2019.

  • Rights defenders give number of kidnapped people in Chechnya

    At least 80 residents of Chechnya have been kidnapped after a car with a DUSTUM license plate was set on fire; volunteers have identified the names of a number of them.
