In June 2019, five people suffered from the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In June 2019, at least five persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus: three persons were killed, and two were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

In Chechnya, one alleged participant in the armed underground was killed at committing an attack on policemen; two of them were wounded.

In Dagestan, two alleged members of the armed underground were shot dead at an attempt to detain them.

In June 2019, there were no victims of the armed conflict in Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania and the Stavropol Territory.

  • Rights defenders give number of kidnapped people in Chechnya

    At least 80 residents of Chechnya have been kidnapped after a car with a DUSTUM license plate was set on fire; volunteers have identified the names of a number of them. In the village of Starye Atagi, Urus-Martan District, about 50 members of the Saif-Islam Elmurzaev family, suspected of setting the above car on fire, have been kidnapped; and about 30 people have been kidnapped in the Shali District, the "Memorial" Centre for Human Rights Defence (CHRD)* has reported.
