Advocate finds out reasons for Zaur Dadaev's transfer to another penal colony

Zaur Dadaev will serve his sentence in more severe detention conditions because of the violation of the regime in 2016, reported advocate Rosa Magomedova. She associates the transfer of the man sentenced in the case on the Boris Nemtsov's murder with law enforcers' attempt to get new testimony.

On July 13, 2017, the Moscow District Military Court sentenced five Chechen natives accused of killing of Boris Nemtsov. Zaur Dadaev, who was considered by investigators to be the gunman, was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zaur Dadaev was transferred from a penal colony in Irkutsk to a penitentiary institution in Angarsk where he would serve his sentence in more severe conditions of detention.

The transfer was provoked by violations of the regime in 2016, reported Roza Magomedova, an advocate of Zaur Dadaev.

"I have sent a letter with a request to clarify the reasons for the transfer. It turns out that my client was transferred for communication with prisoners from his cell, which took place back in the Lefortovo prison in 2016. I got a photo from surveillance cameras showing how a prisoner was reading a book, apparently the Koran, and another stood at the wall and listened to him. And my client was apparently transferred for such communication with other prisoners," Roza Magomedova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. She believes the violations were "not serious."

The advocate has pointed out the connection between the Zaur Dadaev's transfer and interrogations in the Boris Nemtsov's murder case. "In Irkutsk, some people visited my client and asked him to testify against Geremeev. They asked about his whereabouts. That was ridiculous to ask a person in prison about the Geremeev's whereabouts. The transfer is connected with a new attempt to get testimony," believes Roza Magomedova.

Let us remind you that the case on the Boris Nemtsov's murder involves Chechen officers Ruslan Geremeev and his driver Ruslan Mukhudinov. The investigators consider Ruslan Mukhudinov as a person who ordered the assassination. However, members of the Boris Nemtsov family believe the real customers should be sought among the top-ranking officials of Chechnya.
