Stavropol resident detained for attempting to set fire to military registration and enlistment office

A man has been detained for attempting to set fire to a military registration and enlistment office in Stavropol. Scammers took three loans in his name and promised to write off the debts after arson of the military registration and enlistment office, Vladimir Vladimirov, Governor of the Stavropol Territory, reports in his Telegram channel.

“According to the preliminary information, the man’s actions were controlled by phone scammers. It is clear that the incident could not happen without the involvement of the Ukrainian special services. The scammers managed to convince the resident of Stavropol that they were able to ‘save’ his savings. Unfortunately, the man believed them,” the Governor of the Stavropol Territory reports in his Telegram channel.

The detainee threw a Molotov cocktail to the military registration and enlistment office building. “He took three loans. Then the scammers introduced themselves as law enforcers, promised him that they could help him get the money back and asked him to throw a Molotov cocktail at the military registration and enlistment office,” the Governor of the Stavropol Territory stated.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that a wave of arson attacks on military registration and enlistment offices was recorded in Russia after the announcement of partial mobilization in 2022. General Headquarters spokesman Vladimir Tsimlyansky said that arson of military registration and enlistment offices would be classified as terror acts and could result in punishment with up to 15 years of imprisonment.
