Zarema Musaeva denied hospital treatment in Chechnya

Zarema Musaeva has been examined in the hospital and returned to the SIZO (pre-trial prison), where she is kept in Chechnya. The examination showed deterioration of her health. Her advocate has sent a complaint to the prosecutor's office with a demand to check the actions of the SIZO staff and provide Musaeva with the due medical care, the "Team against Torture" (TaT) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zarema Musaeva, the wife of Saidi Yangulbaev, a former Russian federal judge was abducted on January 20, 2022, from their apartment in Nizhny Novgorod. The court in Grozny has been considering her case since June 2022. In February this year, Zarema Musaeva complained about the deterioration of her health at the SIZO; and on June 5, her son, Abubakar Yangulbaev, stated that his mother could not move independently; and she was hospitalized.

Zarema Musaeva is accused of assaulting a law enforcer and of committing a fraud.

On June 9, Musaeva told her advocate that she had not been hospitalized. She was examined at the republic's hospital and returned the same day back to the SIZO, the TaT has written in its Telegram channel.

According to Musaeva, the examination has confirmed "a significant worsening of the symptoms of her diseases, one of which is diabetes."

Let us remind you that after Zarema Musaeva's detention, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, accused the members of the Yangulbaev family of organizing a terrorist network and stated that the place that awaited them "was in jail or under the ground." On February 1, 2023, Adam Delimkhanov, an advisor to Kadyrov, threatened to kill the Yangulbaev family. After that, Saidi Yangulbaev and his children left Russia.
